Hasmik Harutyunyan
Composition Instructor
Hasmik Harutyunyan was born on February 19, 1984, in Yerevan, Armenia.
Education
- 1998-2002: Studied in the Musicology Department at Yerevan State Musical College named after Romanos Melikyan.
- 2002-2007: Studied in the Composition Department under the guidance of Aram Satyan at Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas.
Work Experience
- 2005-2021: Served as a lecturer and later as Deputy Director for Educational Affairs at Yerevan State Musical College named after Romanos Melikyan.
- 2008-2019: Worked as a Composition Teacher at the Arts School named after Haykanush Danielyan in Yerevan.
- 2023-present: Currently working as a Composition Teacher at the International Music School in Glendale, USA (now “Crescendo”), where she also writes songs for the school choir.
Collaborations
- Since 2005: Collaborates as a composer with the “Arevik” (now “Arevner”) children’s ensemble, initially led by Armen Divanyan and currently by Arpine Hovhannisyan, receiving numerous awards.
- Since 2022: Member of the Armenian American Artists Association (AAAA), led by Garegin Karazian.
- Since 2023: Collaborates with the Armenian Choral Conductors Association, led by Gayane Baghdasaryan.
- Since 2023: Collaborates with the “Hamazkayin Nairyian” choir of Western USA, led by Lusine Meliksetyan.
- Since 2024: Collaborates with the AGBU choir in Pasadena, USA, led by Nektar Mirakyan.
- Since 2024: Member of the National Association of Composers, USA (NACUSA-LA).
- Since 2024: Collaborates with the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, USA.
Achievements
Hasmik Harutyunyan has participated in numerous competitions, concerts, festivals, and training programs, earning various awards, certificates of appreciation, and diplomas. She is the author of many works across different genres, including vocal, instrumental, chamber, choral, and symphonic music, with a particular focus on children’s and youth songs. Several of her original works have been published.
