Born in 1978 in Yerevan, Berj Karazian is a celebrated tenor and a distinguished figure in classical music, acclaimed for both his operatic and oratorio performances. Berj graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory and further honed his skills in postgraduate studies under the tutelage of Professors T. Sazandarian and G. Geghamian. His exceptional talent was recognized early in his career, earning him laureate honors in the A. Isahakyan and T. Sazandaryan competitions.

As a leading soloist of the Yerevan Opera Theater and the Cathedral Choir of Mother See St. Echmiadzin, as well as a member of the “Tagharan” ensemble, Berj has demonstrated versatility across a broad vocal repertoire. His collaborations with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra have been pivotal in his career, bringing rich, emotive performances to audiences both domestically and internationally.

Among his expansive range of operatic roles, Berj has notably performed as Saro, Ashugh, Sayat-Nova, Alfredo, Edgardo, Tamino, Don Ottavio, Nemorino, Don Ramiro, Almaviva, Tamino again, Cassio, and Arlequin. This repertoire showcases his ability to adapt to various musical and dramatic demands, highlighting his skill and depth as a performer.

Berj Karazian is internationally renowned, particularly for his unparalleled performances as the tenor soloist in Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” captivating audiences in high-profile venues across South Korea, Brazil, Lebanon, Germany, and at China’s prestigious “Forbidden City” music festival. His international tours have also taken him to Germany, Scotland, Lithuania, Italy, France, Russia, and Greece, among other countries.

In addition to his performance career, Berj is a dedicated vocal instructor at Crescendo Music School, where he brings his wealth of experience and passion for music to inspire and educate a new generation of singers.
